About Us

In May of 2019, my husband and I had the opportunity to purchase Camp Cherokee Ridge in Wayne County, MO. The camp was owned by the Girl Scout Council of MO and had been in operation since 1960. This property has meant so much to many people over the years. We want to continue to provide people the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and learn more about the Ozarks. We are blessed to live in the most beautiful part of the state and want to share that with others! The property is 1200 acres with two miles of the St. Francis River on one side, Sam A Baker on another; then across the county road, the property is bordered by Graves Mountain Conservation Area. This unique property has a horse arena, 14 horse stalls that have been updated with matting and are 10’x10’ fully enclosed and 10×12 gated to the outside. The property had a lot to offer when we purchased it but, we decided we wanted to add even more to it. Since May of 2019, we have remodeled the Lodge; this is an area that groups can gather and watch a movie, play ping pong, or relax in front of the fireplace and read a book. We have remodeled the primitive cabins on the property to now have electricity and a queen-sized bed. Each cabin will have a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. We have built over 8 miles of roads, and we brought in over 1100 tons of sand to build a swim beach for the lake. We have also added access to two separate gravel bars for swimming in the St. Francis River. We have added a gravel walk/bike path around the lake that is approximately 1 mile long. We have remodeled two of the original cabins on the property to be equipped with modern amenities and a hot tub on a private deck. We have also added 12 luxury park models with decks, hot tubs, and gas grills for those who like to camp in comfort. We have come a long way in the last two years, but we still have a long way to go. Some of our future plans include twenty-one 50amp full hook-up pull-through RV sites and twenty-nine 30 amp full hook-up back-in sites. The RV campground is almost complete. We are expecting to start taking reservations in March of 2022. We are currently building a shower house with heated floors and AC. Each room of the shower house will include a private shower, sink, and toilet. We are working on a dog park with an outdoor shower for your pet. We have plans for ten glamping tents that will include a queen-sized bed and linens. A beautiful view along the river and among pines. These will be far away from the rest of the campground in your private oasis. We also have covered wagons that will be arriving in early summer 2022. These wagons will provide a unique camping experience that will still allow the comforts of AC and a comfortable bed to rest under the stars. Speaking of our stars, we want to limit the light exposure at the campground to take full advantage of the sky at night. We are working to keep the lighting to a minimum so everyone here and the wildlife can still enjoy the park. We are open now for reservations of our luxury Lakeview Cabins. The RV sites are still under construction- we plan to start excepting reservations for them in March of 2022. Our Primitive cabins will be ready for Spring 2022.
We hope to see you soon!
